For struggling rural communities, wind farms a welcome boon

Midwest Energy News reports on a new study that finds residents of two counties in rural South Dakota are overwhelmingly positive about wind farms. Those most opposed? Environmentalists. Plus—most residents thought the wind farms were the most beautiful when they were in motion. “A lot of people in the Great Plains see the land as a place for producing things. When the turbines are in motion and producing electricity, things are getting done.”
